Frequently Asked Questions About Blessings Of Love Celebrant Services

Questions & Answers

Q: How do we get our marriage license and when?

A: The process varies by state, so please check with the county clerk's office in the state where you would like to marry for all requirements, including when to get your license, blood tests, any waiting periods, age limits, and fees.

As the Owner of Blessings Of Love Celebrant Services and an ordained minister through American Marriage Ministries, I recommend the following for the primary service areas:

  • In Virginia: You and your partner can apply together at any Circuit Court Clerk’s office in the state (it doesn't have to be the county where you are getting married). No blood test required.
  • In West Virginia: You must apply together at a County Clerk’s office. No blood test required.
  • Timing: For both states, you can typically get your license within 60 days of your wedding date. There is no waiting period, so you can be married the same day you receive it!

Please still check with the clerk's office in Virginia and West Virginia for all specific requirements, including valid ID, age limits, and fees or anything else, in case there are changes to the requirements. As your celebrant, I will handle the filing of your license after the ceremony for your total peace of mind.

Q: Do you perform legal marriages?

A: Yes! I am a legally registered, non-denominational Religious Celebrant and Officiant for the states of Virginia and West Virginia. I am ordained through American Marriage Ministries (AMM) and I hold a valid business license as the sole proprietor of Blessings Of Love Celebrant Services to ensure all legal requirements are met for your peace of mind. I also have done a course in Wedding Skills for officiants.

Professional Credentials & Legal Authority

Ordination: (AMM) with Letter Of Good Standing.

Virginia: Legally registered and recognized as a Religious Celebrant (§ 20-23) Non-denominational.

West Virginia: Registered with the Secretary of State.

Business: Sole proprietor (business license) and owner of business name.

Q: Can I Officiate Remote Weddings Over the Internet Without Being Present at the Ceremony?

A: In order for most states to recognize the marriage as legally binding, the officiant must be physically present at the wedding ceremony.

Q: Are there ceremonies you don't officiate?

A: Yes. I reserve the right to decline ceremonies that fall outside my ministerial scope or where a safe, respectful environment cannot be guaranteed.

Q: Do you travel for weddings?

A: Yes! As the Owner of Blessings Of Love Celebrant Services and an ordained minister through American Marriage Ministries, I am happy to travel to your chosen wedding location within Virginia and West Virginia. I am also open to traveling to other states where my credentials allow. Please note that travel costs will be discussed and charged transparently, ensuring we find the best way to bring your ceremony to life, wherever you are.

Q: What kind of ceremonies do you offer?

As a non-denominational officiant, I perform a variety of ceremonies including spiritual, interfaith, and non-denominational. My goal is to create a ceremony that honors your beliefs and relationship style.

Can I Legally Officiate Weddings as an AMM Minister?

Yes. American Marriage Ministries exists specifically to serve this purpose. I am licensed through the county clerk's office in the states of Virginia and West Virginia.
